April Showers Bring May Flowers & Fruit!

This blog title sure sums up how the weather has been in northern California this year! We have had record rainfall, which is great, but it seems to come all at once! Fortunately, we have had several days of sunshine sprinkled in between all the rainy and windy days!

We moved into our new home and are discovering the new plants in our yard. A grapevine, orange tree, loquat tree and a fig tree are blooming now. I can’t wait to see how the fruit will be! Not sure about the loquats, but it will be interesting to see how they taste! (I’m not a fig lover, except in cookies! If anyone has a recipe to share, it will be appreciated!)

My creative room is about eighty percent complete. I have created a few cards already and I would love to share this special one I designed for
someone who loves flamingos!

I love Graphic45 papers, and I have had this paper for awhile so it was wonderful to finally be able to use it! I love the contrasting colors, and my customer really liked this card. I had the flower appliques that matched the colors, so it was the perfect touch! This was designed as a Mother’s Day card, but I can certainly see me creating note cards, thank you cards, or birthday cards from the other panels with this beautiful paper!

A Quick Hello!

Hello!

I thought I would share this birthday card designed with cards that I created for someone very special a couple of years ago.

Remember to give a card to the people in your life. They will appreciate it! In today’s fast paced world, receiving something in the mail that isn’t junk or a bill will certainly be opened first!

Hope you enjoy your creative day!

Pretty in Pink Birthday Card for a Golfer!

Hello!

I hope all is well with you and you’re enjoying some creative time!

A special birthday card was requested for a female golfer. Yes, there are lots of girls and ladies that enjoy a good round of golf!

The only stamp or digital image I had for golfing was this little man that I’ve had for awhile and used a lot! I decided I would create my own golfing girl. I love the little girl stamps from My Favorite Things. You can see that this cute stamp has been used!

I wanted to fit a golf club in the girl’s hand, but decided a golf flag would also be appropriate. Since my customer wanted this card in shades of pink, this is what I designed!

The outfit and shoes on this stamp are not colored; I cut out papers and layered them on the stamp. This is a great way to use those little scraps of papers! This was a fun card to design and I love the challenge of creating something original! I love to mix and match stamps to come up with different ideas.

My customer said this card was perfect, so I am pleased that I have another satisfied person that gives greeting cards!

I hope I’ve inspired you to mix up your stamps and digital designs to create something new!

Enjoy your creative day!

Card Design for Many Reasons!

Welcome!

Today I would like to share a card I designed that I thought would be a note card. However, once I thought about it, I decided this card can be used for many occasions!

Note cards are popular as they can be used as a Thank You, Thinking of You, Get Well, or even a Sympathy card. This is another reason I enjoy designing handmade greeting cards; so many possibilities from one design!

I hope you enjoy your creative day and I appreciate you stopping by my blog today!

Many thanks ~ Vickie

A New Box of Crayons!

Hello!

Remember when you were younger and received a brand new box of crayons? They looked like a rainbow in a box, and you couldn’t wait to try each color! Today, I don’t use coloring crayons. I’ve graduated to colorful pencils! However, I do still feel the same excitement when I receive a new supply of these! A new pencil sharpener is an added bonus!

Since the holidays are just around the corner, I also received a new supply of these beautiful Twelve Days of Christmas papers from Graphic45. They have patterns on both sides and can be used to create beautiful Christmas cards and other projects.

Just looking at these holiday patterns, I’m inspired to start designing some new Christmas cards for this season. Some will include Christmas messages inside, others will be blank to be used as a note card, and others will be designed as thank you cards! Of course, you will see some of these soon!

This is a short post, as I need to get up to my crafting room to use my new products! I hope you are all busy creating new ideas and projects. Enjoy your creative day and thank you for visiting today!
