Senior Citizens and Kids!

Hello! Welcome to my HorseMark Cards blog page!

Postings on my blog have not been as regular as I would like; sometimes life gets in the way. However, I feel very passionate about sharing cards, so I think this post is very important. I hope you do too!

Technology has made it so simple to send a ‘thank you’, happy birthday’, ‘feel better soon’, or ‘congratulations’ greeting to someone. These greetings take a moment to send, and the recipient receives their message instantly!

Online greetings can be nice to send, however many people do not have access to smart phones, laptops, or computers. Many of our older senior citizens are included in this group. Some of them feel lonely when family and friends are not able to visit, and keeping in touch can sometimes be difficult for them. This is one of the reasons giving an actual greeting card is so important.

Thankfully, there are so many wonderful groups that have been working to make sure people receive an actual card in the mail. These are just a couple of the organizations that help make sure cards are sent to people who may need to be remembered the most.

Kind Cards for Cool Kids

Let’s remember the kids! Many need some encouragement, happy birthday, and congratulations greeting cards sent to them. Many kids are dealing with an illness, bullying, and feeling of loneliness. Siblings also appreciate being thought of and all kids love to receive mail addressed to them!

Birthdays, Thinking of You, or just a simple Hello card is a wonderful way to let people know they are not forgotten.

I am thankful for the many talented handmade card makers who help make the lives of our senior citizens and kids a bit brighter when they send them a card.

I have also contributed to these organizations and I am honored to be a part of making sure people are not forgotten.

Remember to give a card to someone special today!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Enjoy your crafting day!

Decorating Card Envelopes!

Thank you for visiting my crafting blog. I would like to share how and why I give my cards in decorated envelopes.

First off, when a HorseMark card is delivered to an actual mailbox, the envelope stands out apart from the other mail. I am sure the envelope will be opened first! (Junk mail and other envelopes filled with ads or other correspondence are the last items I open when I discover someone has sent me a card!)

When my mail is delivered, I am usually home. I have met and talked with several mail carriers over the years and have found that many of them appreciate delivering different envelopes, especially those that are decorated.

When I have gone to the post office to purchase stamps or check the amount of postage on cards I am sending, I have been complimented on the decorated envelopes. They do stand out from plain envelopes!

So, in a small, but important way, sending a decorated envelope through the US Postal Service, can help to brighten the day of some employees.

Decorated envelopes that I create are simple. Of course it doesn’t distract from the address on the envelope, it just enhances it. I usually stamp and color a stamp that has been coordinated with the enclosed card. It is usually on the bottom left-hand corner or the left side of the envelope. (I add my return address label on the back, which also gives an extra seal to my envelope.)

It is very easy for me to add a little hint of what’s inside on the envelopes of my cards. I figure that I have made the effort to create a special card and it should have a matching envelope. It is just another way I hope to make a positive ‘mark’ or impression on the recipients of my cards. (After all, that is the reason behind the ‘HorseMark’ Cards’ name!)

Once again, I thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoy your crafting day!

Take Care,

Junk Mail or Treasured Mail?

Junk mail fills many of our mailboxes, both online and in our physical mailboxes. We quickly toss this junk mail and look for the important envelopes.

One of the best items you can find in your mailbox is a special greeting card! It can really make a difference to someone, especially in today’s world.

A Bit of Greens to Take Away the Blues!

Hello!

These are difficult times in our world today and I hope you and your families are doing well.

Since so many people are sheltered in place, I have been creating and sending cards to residents of senior citizen homes and veterans.

Creating cards has given me a new purpose for my work. It relaxes me when I am creating, and I feel better giving my cards to so many who are not allowed to visit with their families and friends. It is a win-win project!

I am sharing this short post with a few cards I designed using colors of greens. I hope you like them.

Sharing cards has always been important to me, but today it becomes more vital. To receive a card in the mail can make a big difference when they are feeling lonely. It can brighten someone’s day and maybe even make them smile.

Thank you for visiting today. Remember to send a card to someone and pick up the phone and let them know you care.

Enjoy your day and stay safe,
