Funny Birthday Cards!

Many people enjoy receiving a birthday card that makes them laugh! Especially birthday people who have celebrated many, many birthdays!

No matter what kind of a birthday card you choose to give, it is extra nice to present a real card! They can look at it later, display it, and remember their celebration. Plus, they will appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Here are two funny birthdays cards I created that will result in a smile, maybe even a chuckle or two!

Scratch off birthday card, funny cards, funny words, cards for baby boomers, designed by HorseMark Cards

I used the stamp set from ‘Inky Antics‘ to create this funny birthday card. When you scratch off the circles, the words ‘liver spots’, “wrinkles”, and “adult diapers” are revealed. There are many other words included in this set, and you can even create you own!

There are many embossing folders on the craft market. I chose one that looks like a quilt to create this next card. I used the top portion of an “Art Impressions” stamp of an old woman and tucked her in bed. My customer really liked this card!

If you know someone who will be celebrating a birthday, I would love to create a funny card for them! Each card is only $3.50US and you will have it in a couple of days!

Playing with Cards!

Hello Dear Readers!

I’m back with a look at what I have been creating. My most popular birthday cards have been the ones created with playing cards. One of my favorite customers always requests different birthday cards to give to her card-playing friends. Since many of them know each other, I need to create many cards that are different. Today, I am sharing two cards I recently created. I hope my special customer likes them!

Sometimes a bit of humor in a birthday card brings an extra smile! The tiny card suits were cut from actual cards, using my small circle punch. On the card below, I used the card suit dies I just received from Taylored Expressions. Aren’t they cute?

A friend gave me some printed papers with vintage cards on them and I decided to use it for this card. I love the vintage look!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I would love to hear your comments on what you think about these two cards! Have you created something using playing cards?

I’m off to create more cards! I hope you enjoy your creative day!

(When I’m finished creating cards, I need to take another course in photography! Sorry for the quality of these picures. 😦 )

Birthday Card for a Dog Lover!

No, this is not about a card FOR a dog’s birthday! Rather, a card I created for a dear friend who shares my love of animals, especially dogs! We have been friends for several ‘dog years’, and when she celebrated her birthday in November, a card with a dog had to be hers! She has a fantastic sense of humor and I knew she would love this! (She did!)

The years and months in ‘dog time’ convert to 62 in human years….for those of you that don’t want to do the math! 🙂

The dog stamp on the front is from Great Impressions. He is adorable and this stamp can be used in so many different ways! I have had the stamp of the little dog with a bone for several years and have also used it so many times for different cards. It is from All Night Media. The little dog bone paper clip can be removed and reused too.

When my friend opened this card, I could almost hear her laugh! (She lives several states away from me!) I know she enjoyed receiving it and I certainly had fun when I created it for her. She took this card to work and displayed it on her desk, where she could enjoy it for a few days and her co-workers could also get a chuckle from it.

This is just one of the many reasons I feel sending cards to people we care about is so important. Let’s make 2015 the year we remember our friends and family and give them cards for the events in their lives.

I hope this card put a smile on your face too!

Enjoy your Creative Day!

Birthday Card made with Cards!

I’m sharing this older post, with an update. This card has been pinned to over 10k boards on Pinterest! Not a bad number for my little hobby/business!

Our home has been filled with playing cards since my eldest son was in the fourth grade. He would practice different shuffles and tricks, and leave decks and single cards in just about every room in our home. A few even ended up on a high window ledge in our living room! (I have yet to see that card trick!) His interest and passion for magic did pay off though, as he has been a professional magician and entertainer in the San Francisco area for several years now!
(Proud mom moment to share! Ryan Kane (Horsfall).

Anyway, in spite of always having playing cards around our home, using them to create my handmade cards had not even crossed my mind. A loyal customer recently requested some humorous birthday cards to share with her bridge playing friends. Well, this is when I realized I could open a fresh deck of cards and put them to good use! This is what I created.

Even if you don’t play bridge, poker, or other card games this card could be fun to present to the birthday ‘shuffler’. What do you think?
